A nine-day, hands-on community building workshop on the Nile to collectively create a Scarab Compost Toilet using ancient building techniques and local natural materials. Learn clay building and plastering, 3D clay sculpture and ecological composting systems, and sculpt a giant scarab into the earthen walls, turning the toilet into living art. In ancient Egypt the scarab symbolised transformation and rebirth: a fitting heart for a system that returns "waste" to the cycle of life. Alongside the building, the group explores turning waste, old patterns and challenges into fertile material for something new.
