Description
An evening with Egyptian novelist Mohamed Mansi Qandil and translator R. Neil Hewison celebrating "The Country Doctor's Tale" (Hoopoe, 2026), organised by AUC Press.
A bilingual reading from the novel, then a conversation moderated by Diwan co-founder Nadia Wassef and an audience Q&A. Set in rural Upper Egypt in the early 1980s, the novel explores forbidden love, political corruption and the pull between tradition and desire.
