Parallel worlds pulse with life at the bottom of the landfill. Where the official world ends and a geography of whispers begins, people do not live beside the garbage they live within it. They survive on its remnants, drawing their daily existence from what others have discarded without a second thought.

This exhibition takes its visitors on a profound visual and psychological journey into these marginalized communities, shedding light on the lives of the scavengers whose bodies and spirits have become inseparable from the relentless cycle of recycling. They are people who have never had the luxury of choice, whose hands have become finely tuned instruments capable of separating pure gold from mountains of waste, transforming the leftovers of modern consumption into a lifeline that carries them through another day.

This body of work is not a dry documentary record of poverty, nor does it seek to provoke cheap or superficial sympathy. Instead, it approaches these individuals as philosophers of survival people who have redefined the very meaning of value. What the comfortable world dismisses as garbage, the marginalized recognize as life deferred a life still worth rescuing.

About the Artist: Osama Ehab (2002) is an Egyptian visual artist based in Cairo. He is currently completing his studies at the Faculty of Art Education. His practice explores various techniques, including drawing, painting, and monoprinting on different materials, as a way to express himself and develop his work.

Osama has participated in several exhibitions, such as Plage Champollion at Access Art Space (2022) and Pump at the American University in Cairo (2023). He was awarded the Ubuntu Art Gallery.
